Here's how to proceed: take a bin of about fifty liters, fill it 1/4 of a good soil and compost. In this bin, on several layers, yours will grow potatoesfrom seed. In order to be planted, potatoes must have a bud. If they do not show it, place them in the light for 3 or 4 days until the buds appear with a soft green color.
Take the bud potatoes, cut them in half and place them in the soil with the buds facing up. The soil must always be moist but without any stagnation so as not to rot the potatoes. As the plant grows it will be necessary to add some soil so as to always keep the roots that grow around the potato covered. When the plants stop growing, that is after about three months, you will notice that the leaves will change their color: the vegetation of the leaves will change from green to yellow. At this point your potatoes will be ready and you just have to pick them up!

When there is no longer the risk of frost and night temperatures are above 12 ° C, the small tomato seedlings can be transplanted outdoors. Tomatoes prefer a sunny location and frequent watering. When the first tomato clusters begin to form, remove the lower leaves to encourage growth. The most suitable tomatoes for cultivation on the balcony they are the F1 Hybrid Totems (photo above right), they grow in abundance, in clusters and the whole plant remains quite low (between 45 and 90 cm), so they are perfect for growing in pots. From a single plant it will be possible to harvest several kilos.

To grow strawberries, simply buy three hanging pots with a diameter of 18 cm. Three "fragaria x ananassa" strawberry seedlings will be buried in each pot, this re-flowering variety bears fruit throughout the summer, starting from June and continuing until the first autumn frosts. Strawberries also grow well in planters. An 80 cm long planter can easily accommodate a dozen strawberry plants to grow directly on balcony.
