1) Grisù: why is it called that and what is it about?

Grisù is an electrolyser device that saves fuel to the vehicles on which it is mounted. As? It produces hydrogenated gas using the physical principle of water splitting by passing electrical flow. The name is a reference to the infamous explosive gas and also wants to remember a dragon protagonist of a cartoon, who wanted to be a firefighter but - for the excitement - could not contain the emission of flame.

2) How many models are there?

Grisù exists in two versions. The first includes two steel tanks (capacity 200 cc) with separate chambers (one for the liquid, one for the gas produced) which contain liquid electrolyte (distilled water) and immersed electrodes. To these electrodes 12 volts electricity is transmitted from the car alternator. A 6 mm diameter tube carries the produced gas to the engine air intake manifold, ie after the air filter. The engine therefore consumes air + HHO gas. The second model, on the other hand, works by passing electrolyte into a cell (steel) which creates an “electrical labyrinth” which generates the division of the H2O molecule and returns water and gas. The gas is separated and sent to the engine as described above.

3) What are the pros and cons of your system compared to traditional systems?

All HHO devices for engines are - like ours - refinements of an idea born in 1918: in truth, there are no traditional systems. The pros to consider, on a general level, are the fact that burning air + HHO means significantly reducing particulate matter, therefore cleaner exhausts, longer engine life and less pollution.

Grisù also stands out for some characteristics: being totally made of steel, it has no economic or fragile fittings, it can be transferred from one vehicle to another without the need for a fixed system (such as LPG or CNG), it is made entirely in Italy, not it can generate dangerousness, does not overheat and does not produce steam. It can also be adapted to small vehicles (1000cc) and offers results up to 3000cc engines.

4) Where do you produce it and in what quantity?

Assembled by two small workshops in the north-east area, a dozen are built a month. § In the future, by next autumn, we plan to industrialize the product by adding digital and “friendly” control elements for all categories of users. For now we have a basic model and one with double tank, both with aluminum box, to which is added the new and more efficient Grisu Hhone, still in the prototype phase, which will allow variations of use up to 4000 cc.

5) What are the costs for installation? Is special maintenance required?

The latest model, to give the idea, costs 1,500 euros, with a 2-year warranty and an estimated life of 5 years if well maintained. Maintenance requires - first of all - perfect installation by an auto electrician or qualified and competent technicians. Every 2,000 km just add distilled water, every 40,000 km the generator must be cleaned.

The vehicle that "runs at HHO" does not require any rectification, does not undergo electronic, mechanical or "destructive" alterations. A vehicle that has "turned at HHO" even when the system is removed, is not affected by alterations.

6) Do you also have projects in the field of electric mobility? Which?

We are importers of a small electric folding motorcycle - replica of a famous scooter from the 1970s. We are local scooter dealers, we sell lightweight folding bikes and an “Electric Wheel Kit” that can be used on traditional bikes. We also plan to offer an innovative electric city car model in the future.

On the e-mobility front, we are raising awareness of institutions and structures that use their own vehicles massively (distribution, surveillance, campsites, ...): before the individual, it is the institutions and large structures that must recognize the advantages and values ​​of green mobility.

7) What administrative facilities have you encountered from a “green and made in Italy” company?

However, the virtuous cases are few, only a few local administrations have used green financing: in Trentino, for example, provincial contributions are active for the purchase of electric vehicles. I personally believe that public administrations should provide incentives from an operational point of view, that is, not to undertake to manage "financing" tout-court rain. As with other "virtuous supply chains", it would be simple if a Municipality promoted a public and private consortium with the support of local finance to create bike / scooter / car sharing fleets for residents and points for the rental of electric vehicles for tourists, for example . It could also replace the vehicle fleet in service with e-cars.
